Reroll Guide
Sword x Staff Reroll & Gacha Guide
Is rerolling worth it? Probably not. Here's why.
The summon system, free pull strategy, selector mechanics, and why most players should skip rerolling and just play.
Is rerolling worth it?
Reasons to skip rerolling
1. Hundreds of free pulls
The game gives you hundreds of free pulls just from normal progression and beginner events. You don't need to spend premium currency to build a strong account.
2. Small initial skill pool
At launch, only two base classes are available (Warrior and Mage). Because the skill pool is small, the odds of getting top-tier skills are already high compared to other gacha games.
3. Free selector at 200 pulls
After about 200 pulls on the normal banner, you get a selector that lets you pick any skill of your choice. This makes chasing a specific skill through rerolling unnecessary.
4. Server lock risk
If you plan to play with friends, rerolling could land you on a different (possibly full) server, locking you out of playing together.
How the gacha / summon system works
| Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| System type | Skill-based gacha (not character pulls) |
| Launch classes | Warrior & Mage (evolve into 4 advanced classes) |
| Total skills | 200+ skills across all classes |
| Skill slots | 4 Technique slots (active) + 4 Charm slots (passive) |
| Pity / Selector | Free selector after ~200 pulls on normal banner |
| Currency | Free pulls are abundant; premium currency is optional |
| Skill tiers | Tier 1 (basic) → Tier 2+ (advanced, much stronger) |
F2P pull strategy
- Don't pull on Tier 1 banners — save all tickets and currency.
- Use free daily/weekly pulls that the game gives you.
- Save for Tier 2+ banners — skills at higher tiers are significantly stronger.
- Build toward the 200-pull selector — plan which S-tier skill you'll pick.
- Don't chase dupes early — a diverse skill toolbox is more valuable than one maxed skill.
S-Tier skills worth targeting
If you do get a selector or lucky pull, these are the confirmed S-tier skills as of May 2026:
Warrior / Duelist
Sorcerer / Mage
FAQ
Why do "best builds" differ between players?
Progression stage, available skills, execution comfort, and mode goals all change what feels "best". A good build is repeatable and fits your current bottleneck.
How do I plan a build as a beginner?
Start with a simple template, add stability first, then optimize. Warrior Bruiser is the recommended starter build. The Best Builds page has templates for all 4 classes.
How should I use tier lists?
Use tiers to shortlist options, then test in your own progression context. A skill or companion can be "S-tier" but still wrong for your current bottleneck.
What class should beginners pick?
Knight (tank) is the most forgiving for absolute beginners. Warrior (melee DPS) is the best all-rounder for solo and group play. Sorcerer (magic DPS) excels at farming but is squishy. Mage (support/healer) is essential for group content but slow solo. See the Classes guide for a full comparison.
